Culture is a mirror of society that expresses its development and distinction from other societies. It reflects the community's heritage, values, beliefs, history, and the intellectual and cultural level of its individuals; sports culture is an integral part of general culture. The current research aimed to identify the degree of sports culture and the level of athletic ambition among football club players in Mosul city, and uncover the nature of the correlational relationship between them. The researcher used the descriptive correlational method due to its suitability for the research. The population included football club players in Mosul city who were selected purposively to achieve the research objectives, numbering 147 players, for the sports season (2025-2026). The researcher used the following statistical tools via SPSS: percentage, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, hypothetical mean, calculated T-value, Pearson correlation coefficient, and significance (sig) value. The results showed that football club players in Mosul city generally enjoy a high degree of sports culture and level of athletic ambition. The results also revealed a statistically significant positive (direct) correlation between sports culture and the level of athletic ambition among the research sample. The researcher recommends conducting more studies on the sports culture variable with other variables and different activities, conducting a similar study on high school students in Mosul city, and emphasizing the necessity of supporting and encouraging players morally and financially to raise their athletic ambition level.
