The Reality of Artificial Intelligence Usage among Postgraduate Students at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences
Abstract
The study aimed to investigate the current use of artificial intelligence (AI) among postgraduate students at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, University of Mosul, with a focus on their awareness of these technologies, their practical applications, and the challenges they face in employing them. To achieve the research objectives, the descriptive-analytical method was adopted due to its suitability for the nature of the study.
Population and Sample:
The research population consisted of postgraduate students in both preparatory and research stages (Master’s/PhD) at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, University of Mosul, totalling 81 students, distributed as follows:
1.Master’s preparatory stage: 17 students
2.Master’s research stage: 16 students
3.PhD preparatory stage: 18 students
4..PhD research stage: 30 students
The research sample was selected randomly and included all 81 students, representing 100% of the population and comprising both genders.
Research Instrument:
The researchers used a questionnaire as the primary tool to measure the extent and patterns of AI use among students. A specific questionnaire was designed to assess the reality of AI use among postgraduate students at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences. The collected data were processed statistically using SPSS to calculate frequencies, means, standard deviations, and percentages.
Results:
The results indicated an average level of awareness and knowledge of AI methods among the students. They demonstrated good familiarity with AI tools and their application in sports data analysis, indicating their readiness to adopt these technologies in their research.
