Measuring the Level of Academic Sports Procrastination and Its Relationship to Inauthentic Sports Behavior among Students of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Mosul
Abstract
The research aims to measure the level of academic sports procrastination and inauthentic sports behavior among students of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Mosul. It also aims to identify the relationship between the level of academic sports procrastination and the level of inauthentic sports behavior among students of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Mosul. The researchers used the descriptive approach, using a survey and correlational approach, due to its suitability to the nature of the research.
The research community includes students from the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Mosul for the academic year (2024-2025), totaling (1,220) male and female students distributed across the four academic levels.
The research sample was randomly selected, comprising (309) male and female students, representing approximately (25%). (39) male and female students were selected from the research sample to conduct exploratory experiments for the two scales (approximately (13%), and (70) male and female students were selected to extract the reliability coefficient (approximately (23%). The application sample includes (200) male and female students, representing (64%) of the research sample.
The research tool includes the scale of (academic procrastination) prepared by (Abu Ghazal, 2012), and the scale of (artificial behavior) prepared by (Nagham Hadi, 1989), as a tool for collecting data. The scientific coefficients of the two scales are found, represented by (validity and reliability), and the statistical methods are limited to: (arithmetic mean, mode, standard deviation, skewness coefficient, simple correlation coefficient, (t) test for one sample, (Spearman-Brown) equation, hypothetical mean of the scale, percentage).
