The Historical Study of Dr. Moataz Younis Al-Taie (1959 – 2018)
Abstract
This research presents a historical documentation of Dr. Moataz Younis Al-Taie as one of the most prominent academic and athletic figures in Mosul. The importance of the study lies in preserving the scientific and sports legacy and linking it with the academic and social context, providing valuable material for researchers in physical education history.
Objectives: To record and document the academic, athletic, and administrative achievements of Dr. Moataz; to highlight his main contributions; and to clarify his role in advancing educational and sports activities.
Procedures: The researchers adopted the historical descriptive method, collecting data from primary sources (personal interviews, family and university archives) and secondary published sources, then analyzing them chronologically and thematically.
Conclusions: The results showed that Dr. Moataz had a clear influence in establishing scientific research and sports training culture in Iraqi universities, in addition to his leadership in academic and administrative positions.
Recommendations: Establishing a unified archive for documenting distinguished figures in sports and physical education, encouraging similar historical studies, and utilizing the experiences of pioneers in developing curricula and modern training programs.
