Self-awareness among Iraqi reserve football league players
Abstract
The objective of the research was to identify the degree of self-awareness among the Northern Region reserve football players, the researchers hypothesised that there are statistically significant differences in the degree of self-awareness among the Northern Region reserve football players. The researchers used the descriptive approach with the survey method for its suitability to the nature of the research, as the research community included the Northern Region reserve football players participating in the Iraqi reserve league for the sports season (2024-2025), The research sample consisted of (5) clubs, namely: (Mosul, Dohuk, Erbil, Zakho, Gas Alshemal), with a total of (100) players, as the clubs of Nawroz and Peshmerga were excluded for not completing the answers to the paragraphs of the two scales in full. The exploratory experiment of the scale was conducted on 12/10/2024 on a sample of (10) players, and the researchers used the statistical package (spss) to obtain the statistical values (arithmetic mean, standard deviation, (t) test for one sample, (alpha) coefficient to extract stability, hypothetical average), In light of the research results, the researchers concluded the following:
- The Northern Region reserve football players have a high degree of self-awareness.
In line with the research results, the researchers recommend the following: - Applying the self-awareness scales to other groups not included in the current research to diagnose these variable among them.
-Enhancing self-awareness by using guidance programs based on increasing the improvement of these variables.
- Emphasizing the need to hold workshops for training and technical staff to highlight the importance of self-awareness among players
