Abstract

The research aims to:

- The effectiveness of the educational scaffolding strategy according to supporting activities in learning (accuracy of achievement and technical performance) of some basic skills in badminton.

- The significance of the differences between the two research groups in learning (accuracy of achievement and technical performance) of some basic skills in badminton. The researchers hypothesized the following:

  • The researchers used the experimental method due to its suitability and the nature of the research. The research sample included 40 students, with 20 students in the experimental group, who were taught according to educational scaffolding using the supportive activities method, and 20 students in the control group, who were taught according to the teaching method traditionally used by the teacher.).

Equivalence was established between the two research groups in a number of variables (age, height, weight, and fitness components). The instructional program lasted for eight weeks, consisting of 16 instructional units, including 8 units for the experimental group, which used the scaffolding strategy according to supportive activities, and 8 units for the control group, which used the teaching method followed by the teacher. The researchers concluded the following:

  • The duration of each educational unit was 90 minutes. After completing the program, a post-test was conducted to measure the accuracy of performance and technical execution of some basic badminton skills.

  • The researchers used the following statistical methods:

  • -mean, standard deviation, T-test for related and unrelated samples, percentage), and the data were processed using the SPSS program.

  • In light of the research results and within its limitations, the researchers reached the following conclusions:

The educational scaffolding strategy according to the supportive activities approach is one of the teaching strategies that effectively influence the learning of some basic skills in badminton.  Based on the research findings, the researchers recommend the following: - Organizing training courses that focus on using modern teaching strategies, including the scaffolding strategy, which encourages students to rely on themselves and increases their level of learning
