Abstract

Studying the psychological and social aspects of the player during training and competitions is one of the interests of sports psychology, which confirms the extent of the importance of these aspects in enhancing and strengthening the sporting personality of the player. The aim of the research is to: build a scale of social maturity among young football players of Nineveh Governorate clubs.


The research aimed to:



  • Develop a social maturity scale for young football players in the clubs of Nineveh Governorate.


The researcher employed the descriptive survey method due to its suitability for the nature of the research problem. The research population consisted of young football players from Nineveh Governorate clubs, totaling 505 players distributed among 22 clubs. The research sample included 385 players from 16 clubs, representing young football players in the governorate. The researchers then


The SPSS statistical package was used to obtain statistical measures such as percentage, Chi-square (χ²), one-sample t-test, mean, standard deviation, Pearson correlation coefficient, Spearman-Brown reliability correction formula, Guttman reliability correction formula, Cronbach's alpha coefficient, and normal distribution tests (Kolmogorov-Smirnov & Shapiro-Wilk).


The researchers concluded that:


-The social maturity scale for young football players in Nineveh Governorate clubs is effective.
