Emotional well-being and its relationship with emotional sensitivity among students of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Mosul

Abstract

The research aims to assess the degree of emotional well-being and emotional sensitivity. The study also examines the correlation between emotional well-being and emotional sensitivity among students in the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Mosul.


The research community consisted of students from the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Mosul for the academic year 2024-2025, specifically the fourth stage, totaling (214) students. (19) students were excluded for not completing the scale, in addition to (30) students excluded for the purpose of establishing the reliability of the applied scales. With this procedure, the final research sample consisted of (165) students. Data were collected using the Emotional Prosperity Scale developed by Al-Zubaidi (2021) and the Emotional Sensitivity Scale developed by Ihsan (2015). After verifying their scientific specifications, they were applied to the research sample.


Using appropriate statistical methods, the researchers concluded that fourth-year students at the University of Mosul the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences possess high levels of emotional well-being and acceptable levels of positive and negative emotional sensitivity. Moreover, there is a statistically significant correlation between emotional well-being and the degree of positive and negative emotional sensitivity among fourth-year students at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Mosul.                                                                                                           The researchers also recommended emphasizing future studies that consider emotional well-being and emotional sensitivity among athletes and non-athletes. In addition to considering the current research findings when conducting similar studies that take into account other psychological variables, especially among university students
