Measuring social behaviour among students of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, Al-Hamdaniya University

Abstract

The importance of the research is evident in the fact that it


addresses the topic of social behavior, which is important for individuals in general and students specializing in physical education and sports sciences in particular, due to its impact on motivation towards learning and participation in group academic activities. The aim of the research is to measure the level of social behavior among students of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, Al-Hamdaniya University, and to identify the differences in the level of social behavior among members of the research sample according to the variables - gender (males- Females) and the academic grade (second – fourth). The research community is represented by students of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, Al-Hamdaniya University (2024 - 2025), numbering (204) male and female students. After the research community was identified, a random sample consisting of (70) male and female students from the second and fourth stages was selected, and the (Shawan 1998) scale was used to measure social behavior among the members of the research sample The scale consists of (62) paragraphs. It is answered by choosing one of the three alternatives shown below each paragraph, as alternative (a) represents weak social behavior and alternative (b) represents average social behavior Alternative (C) represents high-level social behavior. To reach the results, a set of statistical methods were used through the statistical bag (SPSS). The researchers reached the following results, as the social behavior of the research sample was characterized by stability due to the absence of significant differences in social behavior attributed to the class variable and the The Deanship of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences is interested in the social aspects of its students, as they are the pillars of society, by intensifying purposeful social activities such as (cultural debates, scientific trips, and workshops).
