The Big Five Personality Traits Among Female Students in Colleges and Departments of Physical Education and Sports Sciences
Abstract
The current study aims to identify the level of the Big Five personality traits among female students in colleges and departments of physical education and sports sciences, as well as the significance of differences in these traits based on the variables of province and age. After verifying its psychometric properties, the study adopted a descriptive survey methodology and used Costa and McCraes Big Five personality scale. The study population included second-year female students in physical education colleges and departments at universities in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, totaling 138 students during the 2021-2022 academic year. The sample, selected purposefully, consisted of 121 students.After statistical analysis using SPSS, the results showed that the level of the Big Five personality traits among female students in universities in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq was high, except for the neuroticism trait, which was at a moderate level.
